rèn (rèn píng )“任”和“任凭”是两个同义的虚词。“任”常用于口语;而“任凭”则用于书面。
no matter what (who, how等), whatever, whoever, however等让步连词,有“无论”的意思。表示在任何惰况下结果和结论都一样。
- 任(凭)我们怎么劝说,他就是不听。 No matter how hard we tried to persuade him, he wouldn't listen.
- 任(凭)你说什么我都不信。 No matter what you say, I won't believe you.
- 任(凭)谁来电话,都说我不在。 No matter who telephones, say I'm out.
