face,常用语,作“面对”解时,有以下几种含义。
面对面,朝向。
- 他把她叫到办公室;她面对着他坐着。 He summoned her to his office; she sat facing him.
- 我的寝室正好面对公园。 My bedroom just faces the park.
面临。
- 我们面对的问题和困难还很多。 We still face a great many problems and difficulties.
- 在这样不利的情况下,我们并不想面对一场战争。 We did not want to face a war under such disadvantageous circumstances.
正视现实准备承受。
- 找的看法是你可能得面对这样一场斗争。 My point is that you may have to face such a struggle.
- 面对现实吧,亲爱的,我们都老了。 Face the fact, my dear, we are getting old.
摆在…面前。
- 目前工人们面对的问题是什么? What are the issues facing the workers at the present time?
