Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line 【通讯】不对称式数位式用户线路。利用传统电话线采高频(4KHz以上）数位压缩方式来提供高速网际网路上网服务的调变解调变技术。ADSL的特色就是直接运用现有的电话线，即可提高下行(Downstream)传输速率最高可达 9Mbps （每秒 9百万位元），上行(Upstream) 达640 Kbps 的不对称式的网路传输技术。
