- ‘翻手作云覆手雨,纷纷轻薄何须数。’后来用‘翻云覆雨’比喻反复无常或玩弄手段。 {like a weathercock in the wind; produce clouds with one turn of the hand and rain with another. The phrase originated from the poem Friends from Days of Poverty by the Tang poet Du Fu, ‘Today there are those as changeable as clouds or rain, their numbers too great to be counted.’It is used to mean ‘capricious or play a trick on sb.’}
