〈成〉 a scholar known by the name of Jiang depleted of his talents—a writer written out (orig. said of Jiang Yan (江淹) of the Southern Dynasties period, who showed brilliance as a poet at an early age and became widely known as Jianglang, or young Jiang, but who produced nothing of note in his later years, esp. after rising to high office)
