【英】Big Drum
It is so named for it is big in size with a strong resonance. In the Zhang Yichao Travel Picture in Cave No.156 (of the Late Tang Dynasty), there are two Big Drums carried by two musicians on their backs on both sides of the team. There are two following musicians holding “Tui” to beat the drums. The musicians are dressed in folk costumes which resemble those from folk dramas, acrobatics and music performances. This picture vividly depicts the life at that time. The happy and grand scene also reflects people’s respect and love for Zhang Yichao.
