复句
fùjù
语法上指能分成两个或两个以上相当于单句的分段的句子,如:
- 梅花才落,杏花又开了
- 河不深,可是水太冷
- 明天不下雨,我们上西山去。这三个复句各包含两个分句。同一复句里的分句,说的是有关系的事。一个复句只有一个句终语调,不同于连续的几个单句。 {sentence with two or more clauses; complex, or compound sentence. For example, each of the following three complex sentences contains two clauses:
Chinese plum flowers have faded but apricot flowers now are in bloom. or The river is not deep, but the water is very cold. or If it does not rain tomorrow, we will go to the Western Hills.
